Nigel’s cycling tours in Poland on 19 November at 7.45pm

I am pleased to announce that the first of our winter season social events will be a talk with slides by Nigel Cole about cycle touring in Poland.  This will take place at The Gregson Centre, Moor Lane, Lancaster onTuesday 19th November, starting at 7.45pm.

We will be setting the room up from 7.30, so help with arranging tables and chairs would be appreciated.  We will be providing some Polish-themed snacks.  Please either bring your own drinks, or purchase them from the bar downstairs.  There will be a raffle.  If you have any suitable prizes you could donate for the raffle, this will be welcomed.

Many thanks, and I'm looking forward to seeing lots of you in attendance.

Thursday ride: Kellet Crossroads to Bowness, with a shorter, slower alternative to Arnside

Start: Kellet Crossroads at 9.15

Coffee: Levens Hall

Lunch: Bowness (Alternative to Arnside)

Leader: Patience to Bowness

Len to Arnside

Please note: The Bowness ride may include a ferry return, if running.

To encourage more riders with different abilities or requirements, Len is proposing an alternative ride starting from Kellet Crossroads, riding to Levens Hall for coffee at a slightly slower pace than Patience’s ride. He plans to continue part way to Bowness and return via Arnside, possibly for lunch.

This is a new initiative, aiming to encourage more participants to join our Thursday rides! Please support it if you can.

One off ( for now ) Salter Fell Ride for gravel and mountain bikers.

Start from Bridge House Tea shop at Wray 10:30am – come at 10am for pre-ride coffee. Up school lane then Roeburndale road up to low/mid/high Salter then onto the fell track. Brew stop at Croasdale shooting hut, about 12 miles/ 2 hours in (Bring a flask). Lunch at Slaidburn, back over the road via Cross of Greet and lanes back to Wray. Probably about 30 miles with 4-5,000’ of ascent – a tough day out but doable with reasonable fitness – not advisable on a road bike but gravel/MTB’s fine. Led by experts and no one will be left behind 😉

Leaders: John Gilbert, Ian Roberts, Ian Wood
